This Documentary from The History Channel documents the plot to overthrow, by a military coup, FDR. Big businesses asked Smedley Butler (A two star General and a two time Congressional Medal of Honor recipient) to lead a 500,000 man army to do this.

Major General of the Marine Corps, Smedley Butler, was to lead the coup. Smedley, tired of being what he felt was a gangster for capitalism, balked and reported his findings to Congress.
